I'm Anna the designer of paperanniversary by Anna V I make jewelry out of exotic papers that come from all around the world there's been a tradition that's been passed down for generations saying that you should give a gift made out of paper for your first wedding anniversary paper is very symbolic for the first year marriage it's the blank page the new chapter writing right in your future with your spouse I've been making origami cranes since I was a little kid and I eventually taught myself how to make paper jewelry and men from all around the world started emailing me asking if I could design a special piece for their first wedding anniversary so I decided to open a shop where men could find a timeless handcrafted first anniversary gift in a way that's really simple easy and can be delivered right to their door in under two days I'm really inspired by travels I've taken and the textures and the patterns and the sights of different places and faraway cultures I recently had the chance to go to northern Thailand to meet the local craftspeople who make the bamboo paper and it was an amazing experience to see how they're making it with their own hands and the traditional techniques that they're using I love hearing from customers and hearing about their stories the first anniversary is really the most memorable it's the one that's setting the stage for many many more to come and I just love knowing that I can play a small part in making someone's first anniversary really special making their wife smile for me that's really priceless and that's what I do everything for
