What Are The Best 40th Wedding Anniversary Gifts - We Have Answers!

gift-giving is very complicated
especially if you're trying to buy a
gift for a couple who are celebrating
their 40th wedding anniversary now it's
a it's a one of these things if you look
on the internet you'll see hundreds of
ideas all of the word read in them
because red of course ruby is a symbol
for the 40th wedding anniversary
but we've got some more creative ideas
that we'd like to share with you ideas
that were submitted by women in our 60
and me community so if you're looking
for a gift for a couple that celebrating
their 40th anniversary or someone if
you're in that category and people are
asking you what would you like I've got
some ideas for you and one in particular
that I think is an unusual angle on how
to purchase something for a couple who
are celebrating this fantastic wedding
anniversary so the traditional gift of
color and gift is Ruby of course but
people in their 60s and 70s are thinking
you know do I really need more stuff
so if you ask a couple celebrating their
40th anniversary what would you like
they'll generally say no I don't need
anything at all I don't because we try
to or try to downsize our lives if
anything as we get into our 60s and 70s
but tradition is great and it's okay to
do things to buy gift that's traditional
but what do they really want so we went
to the women who know these are women
who are in that age group that are
celebrating their 40th wedding
anniversary and here's what they said
yes go ahead and buy red candles are
great weight loss wear something that's
small and you know meaningful red is
great go ahead with tradition I love
that if that's what you feel comfortable
with we'll obviously love it but
something experiential is really what
people really want and I've got nine or
ten ideas here that I want to share with
you the experience of one and there's so
many choices now you can do everything
from skydiving or hot-air ballooning
which a lot of people love to do as they
get older that bucket list checkoff or
maybe it's a brewery tour or winery or a
cooking holiday there's several places
now that where you can go somewhere in a
beautiful spot like in Italy or Greece
and do a cooking class which of that you
know with that culture in mind it's a
really nice gift for a couple if they're
celebrate
at a time when they've been cooking
meals for each other all their life
right this is a time to get out there
and have someone else teach them how to
cook something beautiful and share it
together
of course if something travel-related is
always welcome a weekend away it could
be a glamping holiday it doesn't have to
be camping anymore they've done that
maybe with their children but something
a bit more luxurious Airbnb of course
has got lots of choices and you can get
very reasonable fare on airfare now from
place to place so find a place that
they've always wanted to go or buy gift
certificate give them access to that so
they can choose it can be a cruise is
you know the cruises are actually really
lovely a short cruise for a couple and
some people like to bring up the whole
family into the celebration and have a
cruise for the family and that's if you
can afford that that's always a really
lovely idea to do for it really any
anniversary but 40th is such a special
one something social that's always a
really nice gift take them out for
dinner do do it on the town you know
something some place they love a
restaurant that they've enjoyed all
their lives together or somewhere they
haven't really ever gone because maybe
they were holding back on on finances
and didn't really treat themselves so go
to a theater or comedy night to go do
something fun out in the world and then
go to a nice dinner afterwards that's
the kind of thing of it really has an
impact and it's a memory its buying a
memory which i think is the most
important thing of editing age to be
honest but with your 40th wedding
anniversary you want it to be memorable
okay I mean this may sound a bit boring
but how about something practical
some in kitchen item a fitness accessory
how about a workout bike or something
they can lose a little weight or get the
guy into shape you know when your 40th
anniversary comes along you're probably
in your super mid sixties or or 70 and
there is the time to you know start
thinking about your health and
well-being so that's a good idea
something tasty oh you get amazing
hampers of food or you can put one
together all the favorite things that
they love and maybe some little treats
that they that they haven't really
thought about or give them an experience
of
a cooking eye for example a chocolate
making go to the factory where they make
chocolates and end up with a big box of
beautiful chocolate or or a special
dining experience you know maybe you can
find a train that does something like
that you know involves cooking and
eating there's a beautiful train
journeys in Europe for example but you
know something that's experiential
involving food is always good something
soothing it's always lovely to what
about a spa day because you got to split
it up this is one of the things I'm
coming up to in a second is that maybe
that the woman it's a the the couple
would like like a spa day where she
could go and have you know a massage and
a body scrub and maybe some aromatherapy
massage whatever in adjustment it's
totally totally pampering and then the
guy could do you know AB something a
massage or even I mean men are having
pedicures and manicures is it's just a
minute you feel pampered and then meet
afterwards in the spa for a champagne
lunch you know just a pampering morning
and then an afternoon lunch you there's
always options like that and you can if
you don't know exactly where they want
to go or what they want to do what they
love give them a gift certificate and
miR but for a specific place I think
gift certificates for money whether this
random choice is a little bit as less of
a gift it certainly can be but a nice to
do something at a certain place that you
know they're going to get pampered and
loved and taken care of and that's the
other thing I wanted to show you this is
an idea now men and women of course have
different ideas about what school when
they as they get older but I was
thinking that we've got a really
beautiful deck of cards it's good
they're called aging beautifully and
there are difficult for t6 cards really
really cool different beautiful designs
and messages on the back for inspiration
a lot of women in their 60s are looking
for this reinvention redefining their
lives shifting their mindset and that's
absolutely you know the perfect gift I
think I use these every single day and
there's 16 me Purdue
and we put our heart and soul into them
and there's like guys you could either
do something you know more specific to
their individual likes or how about get
them getting them going with yoga and we
have our yoga videos and now these are
actually free online so you could
actually point them to the free videos
but then you could buy them the the DVD
and it's really cool because Yoga is one
of those exercises that works for
everybody and we've got gentle yoga yoga
flows and also chair yoga which is super
easy and a good workout so you can split
it up like that get something for the
woman something for the man and then
maybe just uh you know something to get
together I have a dinner or drinks and
you know share their experiences
communication as you get older you know
you've been in a wedding for marriage
for forty years
these are it's nice to do something a
little separate and get together and
talk about it celebrate
okay what's the other ideas about two
more and one of them is actually very
cool um something beautiful plants are
always lovely if you if you're a couple
our gardeners and they have an outside
garden it's a great idea that women in
our community thought this is a perfect
practical idea buy something to enhance
the garden which i think is is lovely
and so something else is like memorable
and the this is one of the two that I
think are really precious if you can get
together all the pictures of that couple
over the years and your experience said
that you're the son of the daughter or a
friend you can put together a beautiful
scrapbook a lot of women said that this
would be their ideal gift just something
that brings back all the memories of
their time together and maybe you've got
pictures that they don't have so you can
put together something that's really
special work as a team get all the kids
together to gather pictures of their of
your parents and/or friends and just put
them in a big scrapbook or a photo album
and and if you can't just maybe tell the
story you know this was the year that we
went to Greece this is a year we you
know we camped out in the South of
France whatever or this is say this is
the birthday where you know your cake
fell off the table or whatever just
things that kind of remind you of the
beauty of that at that time they've had
together I think it's so precious and by
the way these are gifts that if some
this to you if you're celebrating 40th
missing what would you love your your
wedding anniversary you gonna listen now
you can go to you can say hey this is a
great idea why don't you think about
that
cooking holiday that we've always wanted
that would be super give this give them

don't have a lot of money you know
sometimes just making a beautiful card
making a beautiful scrapbook or
something that that you put together
with your own little hands a painting if
you're an artist you know do a little do
not do a painting or watercolor an oil

drawing anything that you have taken the
time to put them in your thoughts and to
to celebrate somebody I just suggested
they make matching hat gloves if you're
a knitter that would be really cute you
could just have like matching gloves
that I'm with him I'm with her
make it funny too that's another great
idea so you don't have to be all that
serious about this whole thing of 40
years is a pretty big milestone but the
celebration of it can be light-hearted
and fun but trust me the most important
gift that you can give is an experience
it's a memory give them something that
they're going to look at and remember
you and remember the time that you spent
together and how amazingly precious that
was think about things from your heart
yes stuff is great but it's the
experience and the and the the love that
you can show them they're something
special that you've made or you
